The following tournaments will be hosted at
Premier Academy for the 2008-2009 winter season. All tournaments are
open to any team.
- One of the tournaments is USAV sanctioned
Co-ed 6’s so each player must be a USAV member to participate.
Go to http://www.ovr.org/adults/coed/index.php for more info. -
The other four dates are open to any players.
Those will be the same as we’ve had in the past;
-Co-ed Power 4’s ($80/team – ref own - cash prizes - 2m/2f)
and
-Co-ed Intermediate 6’s ($120/team – referees - cash prizes).
The following rules will be in place for all co-ed
6’s events:
1) There can be a maximum of four men and there
must be at least two women on the floor for each team during
play at all times.
2) Libero usage (if any) must allow for team to still comply
with rule # 1.
3) If teams use substitutes, a team may only substitute a man
for a man and a woman for a woman.
4) There are no back row "blockers" that can block in the front
row, ever.
5) There are no line-up restrictions in regard to where females
may be. If a team chooses to have their females next to each
other, they can do this.
6) There is no female contact rule. If three men use all of a
team's contacts during a rally, this is legal.
-
In 4s: no playing the ball into the opponent’s
court with an overhand set or a dink.
-
All other rules are standard USAV rules.
-
Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams in
6’s – to 3 teams in 4’s.
-
All events begin at 9:00 am at Premier Academy
with a captain’s meeting at 8:45 am sharp.
-
No outside balls are needed, we provide warm-up
balls.
