Many families new to club volleyball have questions about the right starting point and which program best aligns with their athlete's goals. At Premier Academy, we operate under the mission "Teaching Excellence, Inspiring Greatness,"and we are committed to helping every athlete find their path.
We are looking to train athletes of all experience levels, and we LOVE to see new faces in the gym! Whether your athlete is picking up a ball for the very first time in Peanut Premier or is aiming for a collegiate career with a Premier Travel Team, we have a dedicated, progressive program designed for them.
We understand that every family has a different commitment level and unique volleyball goals, so we offer a variety of options that build on one another, ensuring your player always has a clear next step in their development.
Below is a detailed overview of the programs available to start playing or training with Premier Academy.

This tier represents the highest level of commitment and competition, focused on advanced technical/tactical mastery and college recruitment.
PREMIER TRAVEL (Grades 4-12)

Focus: Our elite, national-level program completely dedicated to providing athletes with the technical, tactical, and physical training needed to reach their highest potential, with a college prep emphasis.

Commitment:

Season Length: November/December through June.

Practice: 3 days per week (Wed-Thu-Fri from 4:30-7 PM).

Specialized Training: Includes Required Pre-Practice (4-4:30 PM for S/DS/L), Optional Pre-Practice for Attackers, and Required Strength Training (7:15-8:45 PM for 13-18s players).

Benefits: More training hours and the best value per dollar for quality training in the region.

College Recruitment (Premier Travel Track)
The Premier Travel program is engineered for athletes aiming for collegiate volleyball and offers an unmatched college recruiting platform.

Personal & Hands-on: Owner, Coach, and Recruiting Coordinator Jodi Schramm provides personalized assistance to help each player find the right academic and athletic fit.

Proven Success: Over 360 players committed to play in college.

Dedicated Staff: Access to 4 full-time training/coaching staff, 1 full-time Strength & Conditioning Coach, 1 full-time Athletic Trainer that travels with the teams, and 1 full-time Business Manager & Travel Coordinator.

p25 SEMI-TRAVEL (Grades 4-11)

Focus: High-level training, affordable pricing, and convenient scheduling for athletes looking to improve their technical skills but not necessarily seeking a college prep program.

Commitment:

Training: 3 days per week (2.5 hours each day), plus 1 day of lifting per week.

Travel: Not stringent; mainly local. All events for 2026 are held within the state of Ohio.

Team Size: 10-12 players per team.

The Junior Premier Program is where players transition from individual skill sessions into a team-based setting, introducing organized play, competition, and increased commitment without the stress of travel.
JUNIOR PREMIER (Grades 3-8)

Focus: A fun, cost-effective way to learn or enhance volleyball skills in a team-based setting with no tryouts and no cuts.

Structure:

Training: Practices are held twice per week at Premier Academy.

Competition: Teams compete in the Northwest Ohio in-house youth league (primarily on Mondays).

Flexibility: The program runs in three distinct seasons (8-9 weeks each), allowing for multi-sport athletes.

Age Divisions: Players are divided by grade to ensure appropriate development:

Youth teams: Grades 3-4

Middle School teams: Grades 5-6

Jr High teams: Grades 7-8

Note: 7-8th Graders on OHSAA school teams cannot participate in Junior Premier during the Fall season.

This initial phase is focused on creating a fun, positive, and non-team-based introduction to movement, athletics, and basic volleyball skills. It’s the perfect, low-cost starting point for any young athlete.
MINI PREMIER (Grades K-2)

Focus: Learning and enhancing volleyball skills in a non-team-based program.

Methodology: We focus on volleyball fundamentals and improving the basics. Our upbeat, cost-effective program provides sound fundamental coaching in a fun, positive environment for young players to learn the game.
PEANUT PREMIER (Ages 3.5 - Pre-K)

Focus: Perfect starting point for all athletics.

Methodology: Sessions are designed to work on big muscles and begin hand-eye coordination efforts. This is not strictly a volleyball program, but is designed to encourage participation in sport and ready players for the next level.
