That’s a Wrap: Winter Season Highlights for the Premier Boys Volleyball Season as they Head into their High School Seasons

The winter boys’ season went out with a bang this past weekend as we hosted the MichINOH Alliance League Championships. There’s nothing quite like closing out a session on your home courts, and the atmosphere at Premier Academy didn’t disappoint. It was a Super Bowl Sunday defined by tough matches, familiar faces, and a clear look at just how far these athletes have come since day one.

Premier 18 Tiger: Finishing on a High Note

Premier 18 Tiger finished the winter session with a roster that is bound to find success this summer at AAU Nationals. They wrapped up the winter session taking home 7th place in a stacked field. They have shown immense growth, persistence and determination to be the best possible team every single day.

The day started with a gritty, three-set dogfight against L2 182 Boys, a match that’s always entertaining. After winning the first set with a solid comeback, Tiger stayed cool, battled in set two and eventually lost a tough third set. After dropping to Empowered B18 Black, the eventually champion of the MichINOH Alliance Championships, and dropping a tough match to Impact Dynamic 18U Premier, they saved their best for last, putting on a clinic in their final match against Volley Next (25–18, 25–19).

Premier 16 NovaBlast: Embracing the Grind

Premier 16 NovaBlast found themselves in a very strong Gold Pool, facing some of the most physical teams in the league. While the scoreboard didn't always go their way, the growth was impossible to miss. Finishing in 4th place over the course of the weeks in this league, this team is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come.

They spent the day battling through heavy serve-receive pressure and learning how to execute in those high-stakes, late-set moments. These are the kinds of "growth-spurt" matches that provide the best blueprints for what to work on in the next phase of the season.

Premier 14 Budokan: Development Will Continue this Spring

The youngest bunch of our group, 14 Budokan, will continue to partice throughout the spring and will continue to improve and grow their love of the sport through these next few months. Since there are very few programs for junior high boys in our area, the 14 Budokan team will play in the high school girls divison of the Northwest Ohio League Sponsored by All Volleyball. Building the Foundation

Hosting the Championships was the perfect way to cap off the winter. This session is all about building habits and learning how to compete consistently, and this weekend proved the foundation is solid. We’re incredibly proud of our players and coaches—they are all ready for their high school seasons which start on February 23rd.
